FIELD STUDY 1: DAY 12

DAY 12: "More powers pa Dodong! You're at your way to the finish line!"

My afternoon of Setember 27, 2022 is our Day 12 to achieved the 60 hours in this last week. After our lunch in front of the school, we directly go to our respective classrooms at exactly 12:20 pm. The start of their class in afternoon is 12:30 pm and I was so excited since, I will able to witness how other teachers and the students interact to each other. When 12:30 pm starts, their teacher in English for first period in afternoon approached us observers of what is our specialized course and we answered "English major po." And she just smiled and said it to us, "We will have our recitation activity, they will recite in front of the class." As they start the recitation, students were hesitant to recite first, but since there is this one student who recite first, all are not hesistant and ready now for recitation. By the way, their recitation is about Passive and Active Verbs. Majority of them have already recitated, and only three of them did not and got a zero score. However, the teacher gave them a chance on the next meeeting. This period, I have realized that if a teacher is offering them a memorization activity, students will be motivated by the scores added or "plus points" if will be offered. Hence, as a future educator, I need to put importance on motivation so that my students will not be pressured hence, be motivated to learn.

In their next subject which is Filipino, their teacher is so lively and leaving entertainment on the students which makes me amazed because all of the learners are focused to her - speaking. The teacher undergone an activity - a reading activity. Almost of them are readers and good in reading it aloud. But, there is this student who can not read and the adviser told us that this person who can't read has special needs. So, in consideration she just slowly reminded that she will be part of the reading class that is planned to implement by the school. This period has ended 2:30 pm and very exact time for the next subject which is Science.

Subject like Science could be one of the hardest subjects in school, however this afternoon their teacher on it is not around for a meeting. Hence, as part of their attendance and participation, the teacher leave a seatwork in their topic Scientific Method. Students are writing and answering the activity in their note books. Since, their teacher is not around they are so noisy and even roaming around the room. This scenario is uncontrollable especially if a teacher can not handle this kind of situation. Thus, it lies beyond teacher's capacity of managing his/her class.

The third period is done and therefore their free from their pressures in class but, they need to face another responsibility in their classroom which is to clean and maintain the well-arranged room and surrounding. 4:30 pm when we go to thelis specific learning kiosk of Pantukan NHS to fill-up our attendance. It was so good that this Day 12 have achieved and will be my Day 13 tomorrow. "More powers pa Dodong! You're at your way to the finish line!"
