FIELD STUDY 1: DAY 8

DRIVEN WITH HAPPINESS: A Day of Nostalgia and a Day of Unexpected scenario
It was Thursday; a bright day to start my Day 8 in Field Study 1. This day, ma'am Jenny Dumagan still not around and we are tasked to give activity in 8-Beryl in third period of the morning. Together with me, as usual - Ms. Diaz and Ms. Retiza. But, before that we need to entered and observed our first period which is our advisory's classroom. So I arrived in Grade 10 - Lapu-lapu at 7:15 am after our meeting for our attendance - students teachers.
As I have entered the classroom student were greeted me "Good morning." "Good morning po sir." and as far observer, I feels flattering to hear "sir" and give me a smiling face. In their class, since ma'am told them to study for a long quiz, some stundent are still studying. When ma'am, was in their front, they immediately fixed themselves and keep all their notes. Ma'am Gegie prepared a 30-item test. I could see them prepapred and ready for quiz. When ma'am started the quiz to which she will just give a minute in answering the item, since it was flashed in their TV their items, student were so silent answering each item. Upon their test, there are students who are chit-chatting with their classmates, comparing their answers, and even passing answers with a little amount of voice. What they are doing was actually part of what I have experienced in my high school days. I have grown fond of giving answers and vice-versa. Talking with seatmates and even comparing answers. But, one day in my Grade 8 days, I have punished and from that time, I refuse to do that act and somehow gradually stop that behavior. It feels so nostalgic! But, back to their long quiz, majority of them are still focus answering. Until the last item pastedbon screen. When te teacher decided to check their paperz through a counter-clockwise, a process of passing papers some students don't even know how to do it. Then, I have realized that maybe they are still on the process of adjusing from modular to face-to-face. Hence, even if they are struggling, ma'am have solved it and continue their checking of papers. Along with checking of their papers, I coud see the confusion and sadness in their faces. Then, when ma'am wanted them to recite their scores, it is sad that only 35% of them got the passing scores which makes me suprised since they are participative and active in class. Maybe, because majority of them of kinesthetic learners who will excelled in performances. Since, the majority of the students failed to passed the long quiz, ma'am told them to take that experience as a lesson; to take more effort nd exercise their skills in studying.
At 8:30, I go to the office of ma'am Dumagan and wait for my co-student teachers. We are in the office, and plan on what will be our approach to the students in 8-Beryl. As the clock spots the 9:40, we decided to go the classroom of 8-Beryl and start their acivity which is to have seatwork about Conjugation of Verbs. Unfortunately, they forgot about this topic, as the persons who ma'am Jenny is trusting, we discussed it shortly like a teacher and thankfully they understood the topic and start answering their quiz. It feels so warm when almost of them got the the correct answers. As we were preparing to leave their classroom, the suddenly stood and said "Good bye ma'am and sir!" We felt the utmost happiness that time and honestly, I've got goosebumps because it's our first time, where they were not ask or demanded of doing that.
This day made me realize that a student like me in high school, also exists in a different classroom and in different time. I felt the nostalgic and happiness which cannot be measured with materials I have. It gives me drive to be more and tried my best in the days ahead of this Field Study 1.
