This day, my Day 9 is tiring yet, a fruitful one. We defended our title in our Action Research defense and we were able to observe in our FS 1 in the Pantukan National High School. We came at front of the school 12:10 pm and enter the campus 12:25 pm. We directly go on our different classroom assignment and since it's my last day in Grade 10 Lapu-lapu, I ensured that all necessary things I need to get in this section will be tacked on. Along my way to the classroom, I have seen familiar faces and greeted me "Godd afternoon sir!", and I have remembered, these students were my clasroom assignment's students in the Special Section for Sports or the grade 8 - Nesty Petecio. I have smiled back and says "Good afternoon 'sad'!".
In the classroom of Grade 10 - Lapu-lapu since I will observe them this just afternoon, I can't meet their adviser because, it's their Filipino subject and the subject teacher let them practice their performance in English subject on their next afternoon period. As I have observed, students in different groups; they were guided with one or two more persons which I think their acting leaders. There are some who were just laughing; not serious in their practice and some being so serious doing their practice. I have seen their moments in practice and doing their very best to show to their performance what they could offer. I asked one of them, if what kind of activity they will perform and they said a role playing presentation. Since, I am interested on their performance, I did not leave and watch them as they do their practice. Then, I have realized that some of them have something to offer like this performance, they have talents but is needed to develop. In this case, I believe the teacher needs to make more performances so that they will not just be deluded on direct instruction and assessment in a paper-pencil test but to experience like this. In an almost of hour, they decided; the four groups to prepare in their next subject and try to relax to be ready in their performance and since, I need to go to our cooperating teacher, what I did is that I informed one of them, that I will go for my next observation task.
In the next period 'till the last period, we have tasked and asked for a reauest from our cooperating teacher to get all the attendance of 10-Diego Silang and 7-Newton (with a seatwork). During the quiz, I have witnessed how they will answer their quiz. Hence, with these I found it so challenging again to control the students who can't understand something easy direction etc. However, I see it normal, but a goal for me as teacher is to achieve the right quality of education and find other ways to make them knowledgeable on something.
It was 4:30 when our time is done and I have witness them cleaning their rooms and responsibly doing their assignments in cleaning and arrangement of the classroom. Indeed, a great day! Hope of realizing more, observe more in this remarkable journey of my Day 9 in Field Study 1.
