FIELD STUDY 2 - DAY 10: Done and Worthwhile
Day 10 in the morning of November 22, 2022, is one of the valuable days of my Field Study (FS) journey, not because there is anything exemplary that happened this day, but because I can say that I have adjusted to the situation and I'm happy that all of my goals this morning have been achieved without the pressure that usually attaches to me when doing my things every day. It is not that certain that I am that good and ready to conquer the teaching and learning methodologies, but given the situation that I have now, this is a path that I really want.
In the first period, my cooperating teacher (CT) did an activity on their topic about prose. Since it was not yet discussed, this activity serves as a pre-assessment for students in their new discussion. As a result, ma'am gave them 25 minutes to do their homework, and along the way, there were still some confusions in the students' perspectives; not that it is difficult for a teacher to reiterate the things she mentioned, but it is actually quite normal, and "patience" is one of the factors that cause a teacher to be constantly directed in the profession. After an hour, all of their papers and tasks were handed over to ma'am.
Going to the second period class, Grade 7-Everlasting was ready for their second class and greeted me and my CT upon arriving. Ma'am reviewed their previous topic and asked her students to write down all of the details that she would be writing on the board. Because I enjoy writing, I asked ma'am Jenny if I could write about their topic on the board, and she agreed. So, I'm the one who wrote the details on the board this morning. It was a new experience, and another action was made available. All the happenings in the second period were well directed and smoothly done.
Ma'am Jenny has planned an activity for the third period, which is a quiz. From their past discussion yesterday, this assessment serves as their formative test. Hence, a 20-item quiz was created. One of the best things that happened today was witnessing it. Hence, it was done and worthwhile.
